Acumatica has released its 2026 R1 update for its cloud ERP platform, introducing new AI-driven capabilities, reporting enhancements and collaboration features designed for professional services and field service organizations. The update is positioned to address operational complexity as companies expand service-based models and require tighter coordination between financial management, project execution and field operations.

As service organizations grow, fragmented systems and manual processes often limit visibility into performance and slow decision-making. The 2026 R1 release introduces workflows supported by AI, expanded financial reporting and tools that connect field teams with back-office functions within a single system. The update also includes early access to an AI assistant designed to allow users to retrieve operational insights through conversational interaction, with broader availability planned later in the year.

“Service-driven businesses depend on clear insight into people, projects, and profitability,” said Jon Pollock, chief product officer at Acumatica. “When finance, project, and field service teams within an organization work from the same data, they make better decisions, improve resource allocations, protect the company’s margins, and build a unified foundation for sustainable growth. That’s what 2026 R1 is designed to deliver.”

In the professional services module, the update expands capabilities for project management and financial oversight. New features include mobile time tracking, configurable timecards and reporting tools that provide visibility into metrics such as employee utilization, project revenue and unbilled work. These functions are integrated with the platform’s billing engine to support revenue tracking and operational control as projects evolve.

For field service operations, the release introduces changes in pricing and workflow coordination. Attribute-based pricing models allow adjustments based on service complexity, while updates to scheduling and workflow tools aim to improve alignment between field teams and administrative functions.

The update also incorporates automation in document handling and operational monitoring. AI-based mechanisms are used to identify deviations in key metrics, such as revenue inconsistencies or underutilized resources, and to classify documents for faster retrieval within the system. These capabilities are designed to reduce manual intervention and improve access to operational data.

Collaboration features have also been expanded, including updates to the platform’s activity stream, which consolidates interactions across sales, service and financial processes. This creates a unified record of engagements, allowing teams to access historical context and coordinate actions within the same environment.

“With our expanded service capabilities, we’re giving professional services and field teams the intelligence they need to scale revenue while staying firmly in command of their business,” Pollock added. “The enhancements and innovations featured in 2026 R1 reflect our continued focus on helping midmarket organizations turn operational data into a strategic advantage.”

With this release, Acumatica continues to evolve its ERP platform toward a model where operational data, automation and user interaction are integrated, enabling organizations to manage service delivery, financial performance and resource allocation within a single system.
