Acumatica, a cloud-based enterprise resource planning software provider serving mid-sized businesses across manufacturing, construction, distribution, and retail, has outlined a set of product updates planned for its 2026 R1 release, with a focus on embedding artificial intelligence into core operational workflows rather than offering it as a separate layer.

The announcements were made during the company's annual Summit in Las Vegas, where executives previewed tools that move beyond standard ERP reporting and automation into more context-aware, AI-driven decision support.

The most significant additions include AI Studio, a configuration environment that allows customers and partners to build and deploy AI-assisted workflows without custom code, and an AI Assistant that surfaces insights and suggests actions within the platform's existing interface. Alongside these, Acumatica is introducing AI-powered anomaly detection in its reporting module, designed to flag unusual patterns in financial or operational data before they escalate.

On the user experience side, a redesigned interface is now available across the platform, with the company citing faster navigation, no-code personalisation, and more consistent layouts as the primary changes. Customer and vendor portal functionality is also being updated to consolidate account management, surveys, messaging, and support interactions inside the platform, removing the need for external email threads in those workflows.

For specific industry segments, the release includes an AI Cross-Sell Assistant and Amazon Sales Profitability dashboards for retail and distribution customers, an Order Orchestration Assistant for manufacturers, and expanded project financial and document management tools for construction and professional services firms.

"Our technology roadmap reshapes ERP technology from a system of record to a system of intelligence," said Miten Mehta, chief engineering officer at Acumatica. "Acumatica is changing ERP from being reactive to being proactive, and from traditional scripted automation to objective-based autonomy, all with real-time data governance at the point of data entry, which fuels Acumatica AI with truth, not noise."

The company also described a longer-term direction it calls a "composable business platform," which would allow its AI layer to connect with external AI ecosystems beyond the core ERP environment. No timeline was given for that phase of the roadmap.

"Everything we announced today is grounded in how our customers actually work," said Jon Pollock, chief product officer at Acumatica. "By combining modern user experiences, industry-specific depth, and an AI-first approach, we're helping businesses move faster, reduce complexity, and confidently scale."
