Al Mawashi transforms operations with Odoo’s digital solutions

Discover how meat industry giant Al Mawashi transformed its operations with Odoo, automating processes, drastically reducing invoicing time, and enabling remote work.

For over 40 years, Al Mawashi has been a key player in the livestock and fresh meat industry, operating in the UAE, Kuwait, South Africa, and Australia. As the largest red meat supplier in the UAE, the company recognized the need for digital transformation to improve efficiency and keep pace with growth.

Before implementing Odoo, Al Mawashi relied on manual processes and outdated systems, leading to inefficiencies. Data entry was time-consuming, real-time inventory tracking was unavailable, and the invoicing process took hours each day. The lack of a cloud-based system further complicated operations, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting remote work and business continuity.

With Odoo, Al Mawashi streamlined procurement, inventory management, and sales. The Purchase module enabled real-time tracking of livestock and inventory, replacing error-prone spreadsheets. The Manufacturing module optimized processing and warehousing, improving efficiency across the supply chain.

The impact on sales was significant. By integrating Odoo’s Sales, Inventory, and POS modules, Al Mawashi automated order processing, invoice generation, and delivery coordination. POS integration across butcheries, showrooms, and restaurants provided real-time sales data, while van sales tracking ensured accurate mobile transactions. Invoicing, which previously took four to five hours daily, was reduced to just one hour, allowing teams to focus on strategic tasks.

Odoo’s cloud-based system also proved essential during the pandemic, enabling remote operations and uninterrupted warehouse fulfillment. Looking ahead, Al Mawashi plans to further automate processes with self-service ordering through the Odoo Customer Portal to enhance customer experience.

Summing up Odoo’s impact, Ali Ahmad Ali Farah, Al Mawashi’s Head of Operations, described it in one word: "Complete." The company’s success story highlights how the right technology can drive efficiency, streamline operations, and support sustainable growth in the livestock and food supply industries.
