Conlog and Plentify announce partnership to deliver smart home energy management in South Africa

The partnership positions Plentify’s flagship products, HotBot and SolarBot, to scale rapidly through Conlog’s trusted distribution and utility networks.

Conlog, a smart metering provider operating in over 58 countries, has entered a partnership with Plentify, a technology company focused on energy optimization in residential environments. The collaboration aims to integrate Plentify’s energy management systems into Conlog’s existing metering infrastructure, starting with South African households and expanding to other African markets.

Through this agreement, Conlog will distribute Plentify’s smart solutions, including HotBot and SolarBot, which are designed to optimize energy usage and manage household loads. The initiative supports broader energy efficiency goals by reducing electricity costs for residents, improving backup power availability, and enabling better grid stability during peak periods. In the long term, the partnership seeks to integrate Plentify’s AI-based energy management platform into Conlog’s meters, creating a distributed Virtual Power Plant using existing home appliances.

The collaboration is aligned with the RT29 Transversal contract, which streamlines smart meter procurement in the public sector, enabling faster deployment in municipalities. In parallel, Conlog’s connections in the private housing sector will support the introduction of bundled solutions to large residential complexes and property developments.

The partnership was officially announced on 20 May 2025 during the Enlit Africa event in Cape Town.
