The outcome-based system enables users to forecast daily asset movements via a dedicated wallet, incorporating mandatory risk disclosures and preventing simultaneous conflicting positions.

Cryptocurrency exchange Luno has integrated technology from provider Limitless to launch a structured prediction market in Nigeria. The system allows users to forecast whether the daily prices of specific digital assets, namely Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Ripple (XRP), will close above or below a predefined target.

Operating differently from traditional spot trading, the mechanism does not involve purchasing the underlying assets. Instead, participants engage in an outcome-based market that automatically settles transactions using real-time price data feeds.

To participate in the prediction market, the platform's architecture requires users to transfer funds from their standard USDC accounts into a separate, dedicated prediction wallet. The system also enforces specific operational controls to manage exposure. Prior to initiating any forecast, users are mandated to read and acknowledge a risk disclosure agreement. Furthermore, the platform's protocol restricts users from hedging within the same event, meaning an individual cannot simultaneously hold both the "above" and "below" positions for a single daily price forecast.

The product deployment responds to evolving user behavior in the Nigerian digital asset sector, where consumers are expanding their interactions beyond long-term holding into active market analysis. To support the software release, Luno implemented educational modules explaining market mechanics and linked the product to existing training programs, including its AltSchool scholarships.

Ayotunde Alabi, CEO of Luno Nigeria, detailed the strategy behind the launch:

“We are seeing a clear shift in how Nigerians want to engage with crypto assets. Many already follow price movements closely and form strong market views; we want to lead with education as well as provide a safe and secure platform to help them apply that knowledge. This feature is designed to be a natural extension for those who enjoy forecasting. By tying this to our ongoing educational initiatives, such as our scholarships with AltSchool, we are encouraging users to apply what they have learned about market analysis into a practical, responsible framework. Our priority is ensuring that where confidence meets opportunity, it is supported by the standards of trust our customers expect.”
