Latitude59 opens pitch competition to African startups seeking international exposure and investment

Early-stage companies invited to apply for Tallinn event as organisers expand global startup participation

Latitude59, a technology conference held annually in Tallinn, has opened applications for its startup pitch competition, inviting early-stage African companies to present their solutions to investors and industry stakeholders.

The competition is part of the event’s broader effort to connect emerging startups with international networks, capital, and market opportunities. Selected companies will have the chance to pitch their products and technologies on stage, with exposure to a jury composed of investors, mentors, and ecosystem partners.

Now in its 14th edition, Latitude59 has been expanding its reach beyond Northern Europe. In 2025, the organization hosted a two-day event in Nairobi as part of this strategy. During that event, the Kenyan startup Mediakits.io secured fast-track access to the pre-finals of the Tallinn competition after presenting its solution.

According to Liisi Org, the initiative is designed to give early-stage companies access to a structured pitching environment and international visibility. “Over the past decade, Latitude59 has grown into one of the most international and influential technology events in Northern Europe, while also extending its reach to Africa and Asia. Our stage is where early-stage startups can truly take off, and our goal is to give ambitious teams the chance to deliver a decisive pitch that sets them up for strong future growth,” she said.

By opening the competition to startups from Africa, the event continues to position itself as a platform for companies developing technology-driven solutions to connect with global investors and accelerate their expansion beyond local markets.
