New CEO to oversee local business as the company expands its digital infrastructure footprint in the country.

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business of Cassava Technologies, a global technology leader of African heritage, has appointed Leah Nakazwe Kooma as Chief Executive Officer of its Zambia operations, effective 1 April 2026. The company provides connectivity and digital infrastructure services across African markets as part of Cassava Technologies.

Kooma will be responsible for leading the company’s activities in Zambia, where Liquid operates network infrastructure and enterprise connectivity services that support telecommunications, financial services and digital platforms.

“Leah’s leadership is pivotal at this stage for our Zambia business and the broader region. Her proven ability to deliver results will drive Liquid Zambia’s next phase of growth,” said Wellington Makamure, CEO of Sub-Saharan Africa at Cassava Technologies.

Kooma has more than 20 years of experience across telecommunications, banking and media. She began her career at Barclays Bank and later joined Celtel, working in multiple African markets. In 2016, she was part of the team that launched Vodafone Zambia’s 4G LTE network, where she served as Chief Sales and Distribution Officer. She subsequently joined MultiChoice Zambia, holding roles including GOtv Commercial General Manager, Chief Customer Officer and Managing Director.

“I am very excited about joining the Liquid team. I have watched from the terraces as the business has evolved over the years, and I believe that, together with my team, we can take it to the next level,” Kooma said. “Having started my career in sales, marketing, and customer service has helped me understand what customers want and how to treat them. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, which has enabled me to collaborate seamlessly across diverse business environments.”

Liquid said the appointment is aligned with its plans to continue developing network and digital infrastructure in Zambia, supporting enterprises and service providers that rely on connectivity and data services to operate.
