This partnership ensures that students, particularly those in technology and health sciences, gain hands-on experience using an integrated suite of business applications.

Mama Ngina University College (MNUC), a constituent college of Kenyatta University in Kenya, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Belgian business software company Odoo to integrate enterprise resource planning (ERP) training into its academic programs. The partnership will focus on students pursuing Digital Technology and Primary Health Care studies, providing them with practical business management skills for the evolving health and technology sectors.

Odoo, which develops integrated business management software used globally, will provide its Education Programme to MNUC students and faculty. The Belgian company offers over 70 business applications covering finance, sales, inventory, manufacturing, human resources, and marketing, operating from 19 locations worldwide.

The agreement was signed by Professor Thomas Sakwa, Deputy Vice Chancellor of MNUC, on behalf of Vice Chancellor Professor Zipporah Ng'ang'a. Dr. Jimrise Onyango, a faculty member at MNUC, coordinated the partnership implementation.

"This collaboration with Odoo is a pivotal step in fulfilling our mission to provide transformative teaching and research. By embedding a world-class ERP system into our training, we are ensuring our students, particularly those focused on digital technology and primary health, are fully prepared to manage and lead technologically complex organizations from day one," said Professor Sakwa during the signing ceremony.

Through the Odoo Education Programme, MNUC students and teaching staff will receive 24 months of free access to all Odoo Online applications, enabling them to develop projects and gain practical experience with the software. The program includes hands-on workshops covering inventory management, project management, and reporting systems, with specific applications for healthcare sector contexts. Odoo will also provide training materials and lecture content designed to integrate with existing academic curricula.

The partnership reflects both institutions' commitment to preparing graduates for digital transformation in Kenya's health services and technology sectors. Students will gain experience using integrated business applications that are increasingly essential for managing modern healthcare facilities and technology organizations.

Mama Ngina University College emphasizes technology-driven development in its academic programs, aiming to produce graduates with market-relevant skills alongside traditional academic knowledge. The integration of ERP training addresses industry demand for professionals who can manage complex digital systems in healthcare delivery and technology management roles.
