Nasdaq and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a new infrastructure blueprint designed to support the modernization of global capital markets.
The joint initiative provides market operators with cloud-based tools to enhance trading performance, reduce latency, and manage data with greater flexibility and control. The solution includes three core components: proximity-based infrastructure combining AWS cloud and trading systems; Nasdaq Eqlipse, a new technology platform offering integrated marketplace tools and AI-ready capabilities; and a shared services deployment model that reduces operational burden while accelerating transformation efforts.
The blueprint allows exchanges to scale efficiently while complying with regulatory standards and maintaining data sovereignty. It leverages AWS's global infrastructure and Nasdaq’s market operations expertise to support secure, low-latency connectivity across regions. Early adopters include the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Grupo BMV in Mexico, and Nasdaq’s Nordic markets, all of which are aligning their modernization strategies with the blueprint.
By offering infrastructure co-location, advanced data analytics, and cloud-powered compute services, the collaboration between Nasdaq and AWS aims to lower barriers to market participation, improve investor access, and drive operational efficiencies across capital markets globally.
“Building on our 15-year partnership, Nasdaq and AWS are furthering our shared vision to develop technology that simplifies and streamlines capital markets," said Matt Garman, CEO at AWS. "Together, we are helping market operators provide seamless connectivity for markets and investors anywhere in the world, with a blueprint for modernization and innovation, and the ability to unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth in capital markets.”
These implementations are subject to regulatory review and approval.
