Network International, a financial technology company operating in the Middle East and Africa, has partnered with ADCB Egypt, a subsidiary of the United Arab Emirates-based Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank Group, to deploy the FICO Falcon Fraud Manager. The system, developed by data analytics firm FICO, is designed to monitor digital financial transactions. According to the companies involved, this deployment represents the first transaction-level fraud solution of its type implemented in Egypt.
The software utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to monitor accounts. In this context, AI refers to computer systems designed to perform complex tasks that typically require human cognitive functions, while ML is a specific application of AI that allows software algorithms to identify patterns and improve their predictive accuracy over time by processing large amounts of data.
The FICO system applies these technologies to create a unique behavioral profile for individual customers. This profile establishes a mathematical baseline of a user's normal purchasing habits, typical transaction locations, and spending frequencies. By analyzing new transactions against this baseline in real-time, meaning the data is processed and evaluated immediately at the exact moment the transaction occurs, the system aims to instantly identify deviations and block unauthorized account activity.
The integration is part of an enterprise initiative designed to align with Egypt's broader financial inclusion agenda by establishing secure payment frameworks for the banking population. Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director for Processing in Africa at Network International, stated the deployment impacts the company's regional operations.
“We are thrilled to have successfully deployed this solution, which marks a significant chapter in Network’s payments processing business in North Africa," Helal said. "The go-live of the FICO fraud solution underscores ADCB Egypt’s impact on the market by providing best-in-class digital customer experiences enhanced by operational efficiency. This partnership demonstrates Network’s commitment to delivering innovative, secure, and scalable payment solutions across the region.”
The fraud management system is currently used to monitor approximately four billion payment accounts globally. Alexandre Graff, Vice President of Global Partners and Alliances at FICO, outlined the operational objectives of the integration for local credit grantors. “Fighting fraud is a critical priority in Egypt," Graff stated. "FICO Falcon Fraud Manager is the leading AI-powered solution in this space, protecting 4 billion payment accounts worldwide. We are proud to partner with Network International and ADCB Egypt, as they give Egyptian credit grantors the power to stop fraud faster, reduce friction in the customer experience, and safeguard consumers’ financial health.”
