DuxNet, the networking solutions brand developed by Duxbury Networking, has introduced its new Premium switching line, combining high-performance hardware with built-in cloud management to simplify operations for small and mid-sized businesses across South Africa.
DuxNet has unveiled its Premium managed switching portfolio, a new generation of devices that blend advanced switching capabilities with integrated cloud management. The platform gives IT teams real-time visibility and centralised control of their networks, whether operating from a single office or multiple sites, without the added cost of external management tools.
By introducing native cloud support, DuxNet is moving beyond traditional hardware supply and into the realm of software-driven network operations. The solution allows businesses to configure, monitor, and maintain their switching environments remotely through a secure web interface, helping smaller organisations meet the same performance, uptime, and security standards expected of larger enterprises.
The system uses continuous network health checks and proactive alerts to identify issues before they cause downtime. AI-based automation handles optimisation tasks such as traffic balancing and configuration tuning, while a real-time topology map gives administrators a complete view of every connected device. Integrated role-based permissions and open APIs also make it easier to connect with existing enterprise systems.
For companies with multiple locations, the platform enables unified management of networks spanning branches, campuses, and remote offices. Service providers can also leverage the same tools to support clients at scale from a central console.
According to Tobie van Schalkwyk, Networking BU Executive at Duxbury Networking, the new portfolio is designed to make enterprise-grade network control accessible to organisations with more modest resources. “The Premium range empowers customers to manage networks proactively, saving time and improving reliability while preparing for future expansion,” he explains.
All DuxNet Premium models support Layer 2 and Layer 3 applications and are eligible for cloud activation out of the box. Existing customers can connect many recent DuxNet switches to the new management platform via firmware upgrade, with no additional licensing fees.
Later this year, DuxNet plans to extend its cloud capabilities to include wireless access points and security gateways, creating a single view across wired and wireless environments. As South African businesses become more reliant on continuous connectivity, DuxNet believes cloud-native management will become the standard for secure and efficient network operations.
