New AI agents embedded in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications help supply chain professionals act faster, reduce risk, and improve operational performance

Oracle has launched a set of artificial intelligence agents integrated into Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, targeting supply chain operations. The new capabilities were built on Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications and span processes from planning and procurement to logistics and customer service.

The company says the agents are designed to operate within existing business workflows at no additional cost to current platform customers, running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Among the announced features are agents for supply planning cycle management, component replacement within product lifecycle processes, and automation of purchasing for low-value, high-volume items — in the latter case, the system conducts supplier negotiations autonomously within company-defined parameters.

In manufacturing and inventory, Oracle introduced agents for maintenance work order cost estimation, shipment coordination with outside suppliers, and warehouse task management, including a module to identify slow-moving stock and recommend actions such as transfers or returns.

For logistics and order management, the new agents include tools for prioritizing at-risk orders, automated conversion of PDF purchase orders into sales orders, and product configuration based on natural language descriptions.

Oracle also opened the toolset to allow customers and partners to build their own custom agents through AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications.

The supply chain management software market has seen growing adoption of AI-driven automation, pushed by margin pressures and the global supply chain volatility of recent years. Competitors such as SAP and Infor have also been expanding similar capabilities within their platforms.
