Plentify secures series A funding to expand its intelligent energy platform

The investment will support the global rollout of Plentify’s connected appliance and smart energy management systems.

South African energy technology company Plentify has closed an oversubscribed Series A funding round, bringing its total capital raised to nearly US$15 million. The company develops hardware and software that link residential appliances to more cost-efficient and lower-carbon energy sources.

Plentify builds AI-enabled systems that integrate with household appliances to determine when they should draw power based on grid conditions, pricing, and availability. The approach is designed to help maintain appliance performance while reducing electricity costs and shifting demand toward cleaner energy periods.

The business previously raised funding in mid-2024 to scale operations within South Africa and begin international expansion. The latest round was led by Secha Capital, Buffet Investments, and a South African family office, with participation from existing investors E3 Capital and Fireball Capital, as well as new investors Endeavor South Africa’s Harvest Fund and Satgana.

Plentify co-founder and CEO Jon Kornik said the raise brings together long-term and new investors aligned with the company’s strategy to deploy intelligent energy management solutions in additional markets.
