Appgate launches application discovery service to support zero trust adoption

Appgate, the secure access company, announced the launch of its Application Discovery Service, a cloud-based tool that automates application access discovery and entitlement refinement. The service aims to help organizations moving to Zero Trust models by mapping user access patterns and enforcing least-privilege access.

Companies transitioning away from legacy VPN models often face challenges in defining detailed entitlements, which can result in excessive permissions. Manual log reviews and traditional auditing methods are also slow and prone to error, delaying the implementation of Zero Trust principles.

Appgate’s new service uses artificial intelligence to analyze network connection data, identify user access behavior, and recommend adjustments to permissions. The company states that automating this process can reduce administrative workload and improve alignment with compliance requirements while maintaining user access during the transition.
