South African startup Cinergy Mobile Power has introduced a mobile energy system designed to support film, television and live outdoor events without relying on diesel generators. The solution combines modular solar-hybrid units with battery storage and monitoring software to provide temporary power for production environments.

The system is built to integrate with existing production workflows, allowing crews and event operators to deploy power infrastructure without changing planning or execution processes. The platform includes real-time monitoring and custom engineering components that enable teams to track energy usage and adjust performance during operations.

According to the company, the approach replaces conventional generator setups with battery-based systems that can operate with lower noise levels and reduced emissions. The technology is intended to support production requirements such as location flexibility, sound control and scheduling, while maintaining consistent power delivery.

“Energy has become a strategic production variable, affecting schedules, locations, sound, crew well-being, permitting, and budgets,” said Abe Cambridge, co-founder of Cinergy Mobile Power. “Cinergy is a practical replacement for diesel that works the way productions and event organisers already operate, but with lower emissions, less noise, greater reliability, and data-backed insights to maximise efficiency.”

The company positions the system as part of a broader shift in the film and events industries toward alternative energy sources for temporary operations. Internationally, production teams have been adopting battery and hybrid solutions to reduce fuel dependency, manage operational constraints and meet emissions-related requirements. Cinergy’s launch brings this type of infrastructure to the South African market, targeting use cases that require mobile, scalable and monitored energy supply.
