Nostello introduces SmartSense for AI-driven document data extraction

Nostello, a business unit of Noscotek, has launched SmartSense, an AI-based software designed to extract information from both structured and unstructured documents.

According to details shared by IT Web, the system can process formats ranging from digital invoices to handwritten forms, with the goal of reducing manual input and streamlining data validation.

SmartSense includes features such as real-time processing, integration with existing systems, and configurable extraction rules to match specific business needs. It is currently in use at Standard Bank Fleet, where it automates the capture and validation of invoice data, supporting transactions of up to R100 million per month.

In practice, the bank uses SmartSense to handle large volumes of fleet-related invoices, automatically preparing the information for payment and shortening turnaround times. Early adopters have reported significant reductions in processing time and workload.
