Remote, a San Francisco-based company that provides a platform for hiring, paying and managing employees across countries without requiring local entities, has appointed five senior leaders across its go-to-market, growth and design functions. The hires come as the company reports serving tens of thousands of customers and having processed billions of dollars in payroll through its platform.
Michelle Adams joins as Chief Business Officer, overseeing global sales, partnerships and marketing. Adams previously led go-to-market operations at Algolia, a search and discovery API company, and ran global sales at Dropbox, where she was involved in the company's international expansion and enterprise sales growth. Jean-Baptiste Larramendy takes the role of Vice President of Sales Development, arriving from GitLab, where he led global sales development, with additional experience in senior positions at Salesforce.
On the marketing side, Cat Paterson joins as Vice President of Growth Marketing, having previously held senior marketing leadership roles at Meta across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as at PepsiCo and eBay. Leah Walters becomes Vice President of Corporate Marketing after leading global communications at monday.com, the work management platform, and public affairs at BLJ Worldwide. Pedro Marques rounds out the group as Vice President of Design, bringing experience from senior design roles at Personio, a European HR software company, and Shopify.
The hiring pattern points to where Remote is directing its growth. The company, which operates as an employer of record and global payroll provider, is expanding its focus toward larger enterprise clients with more complex multi-country operations. The five roles span the functions that typically scale together when a company moves from small-business adoption to enterprise sales: structured sales development, brand and corporate marketing, growth acquisition and product design.
"The opportunity in global employment is massive," said Job van der Voort, co-founder and CEO of Remote. "Most companies still manage global teams through disconnected systems. That works early on, but it doesn't hold up at scale. Fixing that is what we're focused on, and it requires the right leadership across the business."
"As more companies build globally from day one, the complexity across legal, tax, compliance, and payroll becomes mission critical," said Michelle Adams, Chief Business Officer at Remote. "What stood out to me is the depth of the platform and the discipline behind it. Owning that infrastructure and maintaining a high standard of rigor is what builds lasting trust. There's a real opportunity to build on that foundation and help ambitious companies turn global talent into a competitive advantage."
