Quickloc8 has entered a formal partnership with SANTACO Western Cape to implement a scalable technology platform aimed at improving safety, operational transparency, and route efficiency within the regional taxi industry.

This collaboration responds to long-standing structural issues in the sector and follows recent disruptions, including the August 2023 strike that caused an estimated R5 billion in economic losses across multiple sectors.

The agreement outlines the deployment of Quickloc8’s digital infrastructure to support route mapping, risk mitigation, and operational optimisation. The platform will also facilitate data-driven assessments to guide systemic improvements, while providing participating drivers with technical training for real-world application.

Beyond software adoption, both parties have committed to jointly developing financial and profit-sharing models aligned with sector needs and long-term sustainability.

SANTACO Western Cape will leverage its existing network to enable wide-scale adoption, integrating Quickloc8’s solutions across taxi operations in the province. The partnership also aims to introduce mechanisms that reduce conflict triggers and improve service continuity for the millions who rely on minibus taxis daily.

By formalising this collaboration through a Memorandum of Agreement, Quickloc8 and SANTACO Western Cape seek to establish a functional, digitally enhanced public transport model, one capable of increasing resilience, improving passenger and driver safety, and contributing to broader economic stability in the Western Cape.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the Western Cape’s taxi industry in building a more secure and efficient future,” stated Mbavhalelo Mabogo, CEO of Quickloc8.
