The stablecoin payment infrastructure company brings in executive with two decades of fintech experience as it plans expansion into Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Middle East markets.

Yellow Card has announced the appointment of Maria Oldham to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Oldham, originally from São Paulo and currently based in London, holds a Business Administration degree from EAESP-FGV São Paulo and an MBA from London Business School.

With twenty years of experience in finance, payments, and technology sectors, Oldham joins Yellow Card as the company prepares for geographical expansion. The company currently operates stablecoin-based payment infrastructure in Africa and plans to extend operations to Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

"I have observed multiple changes in the payments industry over the past two decades. The introduction of stablecoins represents another shift in this sector," stated Oldham. "Yellow Card has developed stablecoin infrastructure with technology and compliance components. I look forward to working with Chris and the team on scaling this platform and developing financial infrastructure for businesses and customers internationally."

Oldham's professional background includes positions at several financial technology companies. She served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Strategy, Corporate Development and Finance at dLocal; Vice President of Marketplace at Brazilian company Loft; and Head of Latin America for PayPal's SME division. She previously established and managed iZettle Brazil, which was acquired by PayPal for $2 billion. Oldham started her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London.

In her role at Yellow Card, Oldham will manage revenue and growth departments, including Strategy, Operations, Partnerships, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success. She will report to CEO Chris Maurice.

"Maria has worked with fintech companies across different markets and brings knowledge of both operational processes and market-specific requirements for expansion in emerging markets," said Maurice. "Her background will contribute to Yellow Card's expansion plans and product development for connecting global and local financial systems."

The appointment occurs as Yellow Card continues developing its payment infrastructure technology for African and emerging markets. The company focuses on stablecoin-based systems for cross-border transactions and international money transfers.
