Enterprise software provider SAP, a global company that develops business applications used by organisations across industries to manage operations, finance, supply chains and data, has announced the 2026 intake of its Young Professionals Program in Botswana. The initiative is delivered through SAP’s Digital Skills Center and is designed to support recent graduates seeking to enter the SAP consulting workforce.
The programme will run for two months in a virtual, instructor-led format and is structured to provide participants with associate-level SAP certifications alongside training in business processes and professional skills. According to the company, the curriculum is aligned with SAP’s end-to-end business process framework, which integrates functions such as finance, procurement, sales, human resources and supply chain management into a single digital workflow.
Participants are introduced to the role of an SAP consultant, which typically involves contributing to the design, implementation and ongoing optimisation of enterprise systems, particularly within SAP’s S/4HANA environment. The training focuses on both functional and technical aspects of consulting, preparing candidates to support organisations in deploying and maintaining SAP-based business platforms.
SAP said it will work with graduates of the programme to connect them with employment opportunities across its network of customers and partners, while noting that participation does not guarantee placement. The company positions the initiative as part of its broader efforts to expand access to digital skills and build local consulting capacity within the region.
The 2026 cohort is scheduled to begin in February and will require full-time participation during standard business hours. The programme is open to candidates who are legally eligible to work in Botswana and who hold a bachelor’s degree in fields such as business, engineering, information systems, data science or related disciplines. Instruction and materials will be delivered in English.
SAP operates in more than 180 countries and provides enterprise software and cloud-based platforms used by organisations to manage data, analytics, finance, operations and customer engagement. In Botswana, the company has been involved in skills development initiatives aimed at supporting workforce readiness in technology and digital services.
