South African startup HyperDev launches AI coding platform built around production readiness rather than prototyping

HyperDev, a South African startup, has launched a generative AI software development platform designed to take users from natural language prompts to full-stack, production-ready applications without removing their visibility into or control over the underlying code. The company ran alpha testing through 2025 and released version 11 earlier this year to a closed group of users before opening more broadly.
The platform's core feature is a proprietary Guided Mode, a layer built to help users get unstuck when AI-generated code becomes difficult to debug or maintain, a problem that has become a common friction point as AI coding tools have proliferated. HyperDev was founded by Riaz Moola, who also chairs the company and previously founded HyperionDev, a South African coding education provider.
Moola described the gap the platform was built to address:
"The gap is that most AI coding tools help people start building but not necessarily finish and ship production-grade software. HyperDev was built to address that 'unstuck' point by actually offering AI that helps users use generative AI models and even fall back to get help from human experts if needed. We compete in the broader AI-native coding and app-builder space, but our focus is on production readiness, maintainability and control rather than just prototyping."
Since its first version launched, the platform has recorded month-on-month user growth above 50 percent and acquired its first paying customers within days of the closed ecosystem release. HyperDev generates revenue through paid platform plans and related services. The company has secured venture capital backing and, according to Moola, was built with international expansion as a baseline assumption rather than an afterthought. "The business is clearly designed for international scale and ongoing expansion," he said.
