Vertiv, a provider of digital infrastructure technologies for data centres and critical environments, is hosting a new edition of its AI Innovation Roadshow focused on Africa, now delivered in a virtual format. The webinar is scheduled for April 15 and will bring together technical specialists and industry representatives to discuss infrastructure requirements associated with artificial intelligence workloads.
The session will examine how data centres in African markets can adapt to support increasing demand driven by AI, cloud computing and broader digital transformation initiatives. Discussions will focus on the role of power management, thermal efficiency and modular infrastructure design in enabling higher-density computing environments and long-term operational scalability.
Participants will explore how AI workloads are influencing infrastructure strategies, particularly in relation to energy consumption and system performance. The agenda also includes topics such as precision cooling, liquid cooling readiness and approaches to scaling capacity through modular deployments, alongside considerations for maintaining resilience in evolving environments.
According to Wojtek Piorko, managing director for Africa at Vertiv, the initiative aims to address practical aspects of infrastructure readiness. “Africa represents a strategically important market in the global AI landscape, with growing investment in digital infrastructure. This next phase of Vertiv’s AI Innovation Roadshow brings together regional expertise and global insight in a format that allows us to engage a broader audience simultaneously, exploring the practical realities of preparing data centres for AI workloads and the infrastructure strategies needed to support efficient, environmentally responsible growth,” he said.
The event will also include a panel discussion on infrastructure readiness and scalability, with participation from industry executives such as Ayotunde Coker, representing Open Access Data Centres. The discussion is expected to cover challenges related to capacity expansion, energy availability and long-term infrastructure planning in the context of AI adoption.
