Visa has launched the fifth edition of its Africa Fintech Accelerator, a program aimed at supporting startups across the continent with access to mentorship, technology, and potential funding. The three-month initiative is part of Visa’s long-term commitment to financial inclusion and innovation in Africa.
Introduced in 2023, the accelerator forms a key pillar of Visa’s $1 billion investment pledge to the continent through 2027. Over four previous cohorts, the program has helped scale dozens of fintech ventures, with nearly 20 partnerships between Visa and participating startups now active. Several alumni have already secured strategic backing from Visa itself, including four from the inaugural group and two more from the third edition.
Interested fintech startups can now apply for the fifth cohort, which will run later this year. Applications are open until August 15.
