As organizations reassess their IT sourcing strategies, many are reducing the number of vendors they rely on in an effort to simplify licensing and procurement. According to the NPI State of Enterprise IT Sourcing in 2025 report, 82% of companies are actively consolidating suppliers.

In this context, Vox, a South Africa-based provider of internet and communications services, has entered into a partnership with Nymbis Cloud Solutions, a cloud infrastructure and data protection specialist, to expand its capabilities in cloud services, backup and IT resilience.

The agreement integrates Nymbis’ cloud and backup technologies into Vox’s existing connectivity and security portfolio, enabling customers to access these services through a single provider. The initial phase focuses on cloud-based backup, with plans to extend into broader cloud computing and colocation services over the coming months.

“Partnering with Nymbis allows us to strengthen our entire security ecosystem,” said Audrey Vadival, Head of Security and Value-added Services at Vox. “Companies want simplicity and integration. They don’t want separate providers for connectivity, cloud and security. Our cloud backup partnership offers them a strategic layer because, by integrating backup into our portfolio, we can offer a complete ecosystem across prevention, detection, and recovery in one complete solution.”

Nymbis operates as a cloud service provider with a focus on infrastructure and enterprise data protection, including platforms based on Veeam technologies. Its services support workload hosting, data protection and recovery processes designed to maintain business continuity in the event of disruptions.

“We built Nymbis on the belief that South African businesses deserve access to world-class cloud infrastructure and data protection without the complexity and cost traditionally associated with enterprise-grade platforms,” said Barry Kemp, Managing Director of Nymbis Cloud Solutions. “Our partnership with Vox allows us to extend that mission to a much broader market.”

The combined offering reflects a broader shift toward integrated technology environments, where connectivity, security and cloud services are managed together. Within this model, backup and recovery capabilities are positioned as part of the overall cybersecurity framework.

“Prevention is only one part of the cybersecurity equation,” said Mohammed Pochee, Cybersecurity Product Manager at Vox. “You also need a reliable recovery strategy. Cloud infrastructure and secure backup capabilities provide you with the final layer of protection so you can recover quickly and maintain continuity if something goes wrong.”

Demand for these capabilities is increasing, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises, which face growing exposure to cyber threats while often lacking the internal resources to manage complex IT environments. Consolidated service models aim to address this gap by reducing operational complexity while maintaining coverage across infrastructure and security layers.

Vox indicated that the partnership is part of a broader strategy to expand its portfolio of integrated digital infrastructure and managed services, with a focus on combining connectivity, cloud and data protection into a unified delivery approach.

“Our goal is to make technology simpler and more accessible,” Vadival said. “By bringing together connectivity, security, cloud and data protection, we’re helping organisations build resilient, future-ready IT environments without unnecessary complexity. We support our customers, helping them to operate more efficiently and securely in a challenging market.”
